My own materntiy session

July 30, 2010

I want to share with you all some images that are very special to me. We are expecting our third and last child at then end of August.  We are just beginning to get wrapped up in all things baby again, diapers, bottles, car seats; new cars (because 3 car seats don’t fit in my trusty CRV), zillions of toys that rattle and shake across the floor; baby swings, strollers… the list is endless.   My two little mommies (my girls) are beyond excited and give their new brother huggs and kisses every day.  What I wanted was to slow down for a minute, to stop and think and dream about this baby like I had the luxury of doing with our first.  I also wanted images of me that represented how I feel so that I can look at them and remember, so that he can see how loved he was even before he was born.

Needless to say as a specialist in maternity images I knew what I wanted, and honestly, there really is no way to photograph yourself (let alone yourself with your own kids and husband) and still recreate that emotion.  That’s where John comes in.  Brand new to Canada he came with years of talent and experience.  He took the style I  love and created the most beautiful images of my family.

Thank you John for all your work.  (Your assistant was a joy to work with as well.)

You have to check out his site.  John specializes in corporate photography and amazing photo-journalistic weddings.

His unique style and bold for color will make you want to get married all over again just to get new images!!

This Durham Region family just added their fifth member!  I was so thrilled to capture the maternity images for their last child and now he’s here!!

You have to love his hair!!  I so love tiny babies with wild hair!

And his big sisters just adore him!

I can’t wait to see him at his next session, all full of smiles!!

For those of you who follow on Facebook, I promised a look at another newborn session.  This little one and his big sister just melted my heart. So for something a little different, click on the image above.  It’s the front cover of his Newborn album and the link is to the rest of the 20 pages.  I just love the simplicity of the it all.

Feel free to pop back here and leave a comment.  Enjoy!

So this past week we decided to take a moment and spend some time before our new price arrives up in Muskoka.  I love it up there.  The air smells so fresh, the company is always great and our girls always have such a great time.   You know, even when it rains it’s peaceful.

Instead of showing off my beautiful (yet somehow oh so dirty) little angels, I though I would share some of the simple yet inspirational wild life I came across.

Enjoy!! Tomorrow I’ll be back with more brand new babies :)
