Creative Fee
The creative fee is paid at the time of booking as a retainer to secure your appointment. The
retainer is non-refundable, but you may reschedule within 30 days. Please give at least
a 24-hour notice to reschedule when possible. No-shows forfeit the retainer. Photographs and
other keepsakes are purchased separately. In the event of poor weather, outdoor sessions
may reschedule or switch to the studio.
All Sessions include:
- A Pre-Session Portrait Design Consultation
- Up to 2 hours of photography at one location of your choice.
- Any combination of one immediate family per session (unless otherwise stated)
- Up to 2 clothing changes (3 clothing changes if only one subject)
- Private portrait screening to present and invest in your images.
In Studio
Your pre-session consultation will help determine the right backdrops and the overall stye
and feel of your session.
You may want to have your hair or nails done if the session is for you or your family. Otherwise
in studio sessions are simple and require very little preparation on your part.
On-Location
Shooting on-location offers a great variety of scenery. Consider a “city look” – downtown or uptown areas can be funky and modern. And
you can never go wrong with the beauty of a park or garden. I’m up for anything, so let me know what you have in mind!
With younger ones on-location, consider bringing a stroller. Don’t forget water and a snack, and it’s often helpful to have wipes and kleenex, too. Older kids might want a mirror or brush – and definitely water for them too!
At Home* (specialty session. Inquire for pricing)
Shooting at home is often a way to document your everyday, Please don’t drive yourself crazy getting your
house ready before I come over. Being a mother of three little ones I know the reality of life. I’ve done sessions in the middle of remodeling, and piles
of laundry. I’m so laid back that none of that bothers me!
If the weather permits, we can shoot inside and outside in the same session. When I arrive, I will
check out various areas of the house for proper lighting and determine where we should work.
A private portrait screening will be scheduled with Alana, approximately two weeks after your portrait
session. At your screening you will have the opportunity to view the images from your session, see samples and work with
Alana to create your investment package. Investments will be made at this session unless alternate arrangements
have been made with Alana in advance.
After 30 days from the session date, only ordered images and images kept for portfolio use are archived for one year
(other images purged). Because all prices are subject to change, prices at the time of investing are honored for 30 days.
